Wild Bushcraft and Tent building

Craig will use his skills from his army training to teach the children how to set up a wild camp in the forest. The children will learn to use foraged items from the forest to create a den. From there we will go through the process of learning the basics of bushcraft, from basic survival skills to understanding and respecting the wilderness.

Wild Bee Keeping and honey tasting

We are back for one more session with Hans the bee keeper. The children will experience a morning bee keeping. Hans will dress them in their suits and they will be taken to the hives where he will explain how bees live, how the queen is established, show them what bees eat and how they make honey. The children will then learn a little more about honey production and of course taste some yummy honey.

In this morning spent at the beautiful Can Cristofal Ecologico farm the children will learn how to grow their own food.

Youri the horticulturist is ready to teach the children all about the importance of soil and how to manage and grow their own fruit and vegetables well.

Wild Equinox Despacho

A despacho is an act of love and a reminder of the connections we share with all beings, elements, spirits, and sacred places. At the deepest level, it is an opportunity to enter into the essential unity of all things, the living energy of the universe. 

The children will create their own tribe for the morning and learn about tribal culture. They will create their parcel of thanks and gratitude to Mother Earth using song and dance led by Rachel Caine. Rachel Caine is a trained Andean Shamanist and holds despacho ceremonies across Ibiza.

Wild ceremony and mask making

Theatre of Ancients owner Joanna Rhuby is back to teach the children all about the “snake catcher” god Bez. The session will include info on our snake crisis in Ibiza and a little history about Bez the god of protection safety and dance. We will create masks and a learn a traditional ceremonial dance at the end.

Wild Drumming and Music

Trace Harris spent 20 years of his life touring the world drumming for large events and parties. Once he settled in Ibiza he set up IBANGO a music jam group which is still running successfully after many years on the island.

Trace will give the children a lesson in drumming and its connection to natures rhythms. The children will learn how to connect to their own heartbeats and tune into the rhythms of drums and beats using their body’s rhythms.

Trace will use a whole range of instruments to connect nature and music in this lesson in the gardens of the IBANGO home.

Wild Storytelling and Puppet Making

Joanna Hruby, brainchild of the incredible Theatre of the Ancients, has created a lesson to teach the children about Ibiza’s rich history and mystical secrets.

First, artist, storyteller and puppeteer Joanna will share her 'kamishibai' visual storytelling performance 'The Lady of the River', a fairytale inspired by the incredible history of Ibiza's wells and springs, which carries an important ecological message about the value of the island's fresh waters, and the threat of Ibiza’s modern ‘water crisis’.

Then, Joanna will teach the children how to make their own 'water spirit' puppet. By crafting these handmade puppets, the children will be able to take home a magical character that embodies the story they have just heard, so that they can go and share it with others!

The year will end with the group taking a wild walk to collect items from the forest and returning to our wild home to create wreaths and tree decorations to take home. In this lesson we will also talk about the true meaning of Christmas. The children will learn about Christmas as a time for giving and sharing, in the natural world and in the home.

Wild Despacho

Rachel Caine (aka Doris Eagle Feather Duster) is a Shamanka healer, Celebrant and Sacred Clown who conducts blessings and ceremonies full of joy and magic, giving Munay-Ki initiations in the Andean Tradition. She has worked with children in Ibiza for over 20 years.

This session is an “Ayni-Despacho” ceremony in which the children will create a beautiful parcel, giving thanks to Mother Earth for her gifts. Rachel will bring ingredients from her kitchen and the children will collect items from the forest to place on the paper as they build up a mandala of offerings to “Pacha Mama”.

The children will learn about the animals and the qualities of the four directions (South, West, North and East) and celebrate together playing musical instruments, singing and laughing as they call for blessings for their families, the island and the Earth.

This class will be led by Emma Sabin a children's coach and the leading children´s yoga teacher on the island. Emma will use her skills to explore the senses whilst in the wild, to connect children to their emotions.

Using elements of weather (sun, wind, rain etc) Emma will structure a lesson on connection and emotional grounding for the children. Emma will use storytelling to create an experience with the children to help them use their imagination and express themselves confidently.
