To celebrate the Dia de San Juan, Joanna Hruby of Theatre of the Ancients will take the children on an enchanted visit to the local well to tell an amazing secret about Ibiza's wells on midsummer's night.... then the children will craft their own 'Sun' puppets to celebrate the life-giving force of the sun at this special Solstice time.

Craig will use his skills from his army training to teach the children how to set up a wild camp in the forest. The children will learn to use foraged items from the forest to create a den. From there we will go through the process of learning the basics of bushcraft, from basic survival skills to understanding and respecting the wilderness.

We are back for one more session with Hans the bee keeper. The children will experience a morning bee keeping. Hans will dress them in their suits and they will be taken to the hives where he will explain how bees live, how the queen is established, show them what bees eat and how they make honey. The children will then learn a little more about honey production and of course taste some yummy honey.

In this morning spent at the beautiful Can Cristofal Ecologico farm the children will learn how to grow their own food.

Youri the horticulturist is ready to teach the children all about the importance of soil and how to manage and grow their own fruit and vegetables well.

We will also do some planting in the farm of our own food so Youri can help them grow.

Over the past few years Ibiza has faced a problem. Snakes an invasive species are taking over territories for lizards and geckos and wiping out the population. On this morning Dean will teach the children all about lizards and snakes. We will learn all about invasive species and how snake trapping helps.

Sacred Clown Rachel Caine will be showcasing her clowning skills in the forest. The children will learn how to be silly, how to have fun and how to connect to nature with as much laughter as possible. Rachel and the children will have a morning to learn how important and healing it is to laugh and have fun.

An adventure walk to combine two elements. First learning a little geology, what is our island made of? How are those rocks formed? Secondly understanding how to walk and connect to nature using Manuel training to help the children calm their minds and enjoy the beauty of the island.

A despacho is an act of love and a reminder of the connections we share with all beings, elements, spirits, and sacred places. At the deepest level, it is an opportunity to enter into the essential unity of all things, the living energy of the universe. 

The children will create their own tribe for the morning and learn about tribal culture. They will create their parcel of thanks and gratitude to Mother Earth using song and dance led by Rachel Caine. Rachel Caine is a trained Andean Shamanist and holds despacho ceremonies across Ibiza.

“Meet the Sea” owner Gregorio will be back!

Taking to land in this adventure morning exploring the shorelines of Ibiza. The morning will start with a little walk, rockpool searching and shoreline paddling where Gregorio will share his lifetime of wisdom and knowledge of the wildlife and history of the island.

Theatre of Ancients owner Joanna Rhuby is back to teach the children all about the “snake catcher” god Bez. The session will include info on our snake crisis in Ibiza and a little history about Bez the god of protection safety and dance. We will create masks and a learn a traditional ceremonial dance at the end.

The best walking company on the island, Ibiza Hike Station, led by Manuel have teamed up with Child of the Wild to create a fun morning. The children will experience the beauty of Santa Agnes and learn orienteering with a treasure hunt and games.

Elizabeth taught our very first Child of the Wild lesson last year and is back to teach the children about natural dying using food and animal produce from the island. She will be teaching the children about the cochineal, using its lovely purple colour to provide a natural dye for print and for painting.

Trace Harris spent 20 years of his life touring the world drumming for large events and parties. Once he settled in Ibiza he set up IBANGO a music jam group which is still running successfully after many years on the island.

Trace will give the children a lesson in drumming and its connection to natures rhythms. The children will learn how to connect to their own heartbeats and tune into the rhythms of drums and beats using their body’s rhythms.

Trace will use a whole range of instruments to connect nature and music in this lesson in the gardens of the IBANGO home.

Joanna Hruby, brainchild of the incredible Theatre of the Ancients, has created a lesson to teach the children about Ibiza’s rich history and mystical secrets.

First, artist, storyteller and puppeteer Joanna will share her 'kamishibai' visual storytelling performance 'The Lady of the River', a fairytale inspired by the incredible history of Ibiza's wells and springs, which carries an important ecological message about the value of the island's fresh waters, and the threat of Ibiza’s modern ‘water crisis’.

Then, Joanna will teach the children how to make their own 'water spirit' puppet. By crafting these handmade puppets, the children will be able to take home a magical character that embodies the story they have just heard, so that they can go and share it with others! 

The year will end with the group taking a wild walk to collect items from the forest and returning to our wild home to create wreaths and tree decorations to take home. In this lesson we will also talk about the true meaning of Christmas. The children will learn about Christmas as a time for giving and sharing, in the natural world and in the home.

Rachel Caine (aka Doris Eagle Feather Duster) is a Shamanka healer, Celebrant and Sacred Clown who conducts blessings and ceremonies full of joy and magic, giving Munay-Ki initiations in the Andean Tradition. She has worked with children in Ibiza for over 20 years.

This session is an “Ayni-Despacho” ceremony in which the children will create a beautiful parcel, giving thanks to Mother Earth for her gifts. Rachel will bring ingredients from her kitchen and the children will collect items from the forest to place on the paper as they build up a mandala of offerings to “Pacha Mama”.

The children will learn about the animals and the qualities of the four directions (South, West, North and East) and celebrate together playing musical instruments, singing and laughing as they call for blessings for their families, the island and the Earth.

This class will be led by Emma Sabin a children's coach and the leading children´s yoga teacher on the island. Emma will use her skills to explore the senses whilst in the wild, to connect children to their emotions.

Using elements of weather (sun, wind, rain etc) Emma will structure a lesson on connection and emotional grounding for the children. Emma will use storytelling to create an experience with the children to help them use their imagination and express themselves confidently.

Walking Ibiza will guide the children on this magical walk to the pirate tower in San Miguel. The children will find out about the history of pirates on the island as well as take part in a hunt for treasure. Toby and his Walking Ibiza team are experts in understanding the islands magic and history and will share knowledge about the landscape and the environment along the way.

Tim Morgan-Spankie has a background in teaching, permaculture and has years of understanding foraging in Ibiza. In this session Tim will work on a quest in a nature hunt with the children to seek out the plants and edible foods available to take home. He will also give them information and education about Ibiza and it’s permaculture for future care and protection.

This class will be led by teacher and herbologist Cyd who will lead the class into the forest on this halloween special to find magic and cast love spells. The children will create “potions” from the forest to heal and protect. The children will learn about the connection between medicine and nature.

Elizabeth Langford, a well respected island artist, will connect the children using their artistic skills to the natural world of Ibiza. After a little adventure walk the children will set up camp in an area of natural beauty where Elizabeth will lead them into creating drawings using natural pigments from the local area.
